Welcome to the Town of Homer!

Banks County was created by act of the Georgia General Assembly in 1858, a County seat was required as the location of all governmental activity. A small populated area then known as New Lebanon was selected which became the Town of Homer. Why the name Homer?

Notice of Call of 2025 General Election and Notice of Qualifying Period for 2025 General Election by the Town of Homer, Georgia

The Town of Homer, Georgia will conduct the General Election on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 from 7:00a.m. to 7:00 p.m., for the purpose of electing the Mayor, and Council members for District 1 Post 2 and District 2 Post 2.

IMPORTANT Public Notice:

The Town of Homer will follow the same outdoor watering ban as the Banks County Public Utilities Department. This ban has been instituted to promote essential water conservation efforts.
